Know all men by these here presents, Brian Hlaford Smith, gesith of Dan Eorl has
left the woods; he is therefore removed from religious grithstead and subject
to the intercourse of the Thiud and its reach and dooms once more.
Accordingly he is hereby stripped of his lordscip and cudthegn a thegn and
remains Englen in his theodish gelafe, though no Leod is currently chartered
within Normandy. He is herwith heit Brian Gneat Smith.
He has met self dooms, and provided scyld to Us in our person.
We set the following bells upon his arrung: 1) he may hold no chattle for a year
and a day; 2) he may hear no holds for a year and a day; 3) he must be dutiful
in his attendance of the Reik's doings; 4) he shall not be counted upon the
martial mannerbund.
However, we do not strip him of his kin-bound brother George Ceorl, nor his
gesith and our dear friend, Jon Thegn Pressly, who took our part and stood for
us in public.
His worth shall be remeasured on the turn of each tide, and shall be tasked to
work closely with his lord in reforging his geafrain.
