Trækro Mark
Trækro Mark of the Normannii Reik aet Thiud is located in Dingman’s Township situated in North Eastern Pennsylvania bordering New Jersey and New York. Only 90 minutes from Manhattan and Central New Jersey, Trækro Mark is convenient to the entire metropolitan NY/NJ area as well as the entire NEPA region. Lead by Normannii Steward Lou Thain Trækro Mark host many Holytides throughout the year as well as hosting Lore classes and a Germanic Martial Study Group. Announcements of scheduled events will appear here on the Normannii Reik home page. Please contact Lou Thain if you are interested in attending any Trækro events or if you have any other questions. Trækro follows a personal tradition inspired by the original Vlissinger Garth of naming Heathen groups after elder translations of local names or the non-English names given by the original European settlers. The translation from Old Dansk is "Log Tavern Mark". This is so called because the section of the mountain where Trækro is located on is known as Log Tavern. Historically this area was home to several Inns and hotels in Dingman's Township built in the 19th Century (mostly of log construction). These hotels served beer brewed by Remy Loreaux which was extremely popular because of the pristine water which eventually became the first bottled beer sold for home consumption in the United States.
